In this sixth and next to last book in the Dark Tower series, all of the group have gone through the door from their world into the present. Susannah is about to have her baby and she learns that it is also Roland's. She is transported to New York City but Mia has control of her and the baby. Jake and Father Callahan are both there as well and are trying to find Susannah and help her.
Roland and Eddie are in Maine. They go there to meet up again with the bookstore owner and finalize business with him but when they come through the portal it is straight into an ambush. Can they all finish their missions and reunite?
Things are getting serious in the series. It's almost time to go to the Dark Tower and make the ultimate fight for the salvation of existence. I had to wait a bit before starting the last one in the series as I don't want this story or battle to be done. Roland and Eddie have an encounter in Maine that blew me away but I won't spoil the surprise for those who haven't read it yet. This book is recommended for fantasy readers.
