To Kill And Kill Again by John Coston

 From 1974 to 1986, Missoula, Montana, had a serial killer.  The victims were divergent.  One was a preacher's wife, another a teenage runaway.  There was a married couple and a female woman slightly known by the murderer.  The police had suspicions but couldn't get any proof.

Wayne Nance had been a bit strange since childhood.   At times he was very friendly and at his work he remembered everyone's birthday and brought all the women Valentine's Day.  Need someone to help you move?  Wayne was your guy.  But some saw his other side.  Wayne had a strict routine and he got very upset when it was changed at all.  He delivered furniture and felt like he was the boss of the warehouse.  He didn't like the customers' husbands at all.  He was finally stopped when he broke into the house of his latest crush and she and her husband fought back.  

John Coston worked as a journalist and a news editor at the Wall Street Journal.  He also wrote two true crime books and this was one of them.  While it took years to bring Nance to justice, he was suspected by the police and considered strange by most who knew him.  Like with other serial killers like Ted Bundy who are often written up as normal and charming, those who knew them best tended to shy away as the more you knew them the more their 'otherness' stood out.  This book is recommended for true crime readers.
